About Us

Tech Digest started out of a simple curiosity and a bit of nostalgia. I’m Mike Greene, and years ago, while digging through some old boxes in my attic, I stumbled upon my dad’s vintage gadgets—things like old rotary phones, cassette players, and those clunky first-generation digital watches. It got me thinking about how quickly technology moves on, leaving behind these interesting pieces that once felt so cutting-edge. I realized there wasn’t a single place where you could really appreciate the story behind these machines—not just what they did, but where they came from and how they fit into our everyday lives back then.

So, I decided to build this site as a sort of time capsule, but one that’s alive and breathing. It’s not about glorifying the past or pretending those old devices are better than what we have now. Instead, it’s about understanding how they shaped the way we live and work today. I’ve spent years collecting, testing, and just using these relics, sometimes frustrating myself with their quirks, but always learning something new. Sharing these experiences felt natural—I want visitors to feel like they’re hearing from someone who’s genuinely handled these things, not just repeating facts picked up somewhere else.

What’s important here is honesty. I don’t sugarcoat the flaws or weird design choices, but I also don’t dismiss their charm. These technologies might be obsolete, but they’re far from forgotten, and that’s where their real value lies. The site exists because these stories deserve a home, and because sometimes, looking back can help us appreciate the tech in our pockets a little more—and maybe remind us that every innovation has a story behind it.
