Short version: the site has no accounts, no newsletter, no comments and no analytics scripts, and everything the calculators compute stays in your browser.
Does Tech Digest track visitors?
The site itself sets no cookies, runs no analytics script and has no accounts, newsletter or comments. The web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, as every web server does. The site carries third-party advertising, and ad providers may set their own cookies and identifiers under their own policies, which is the one part of this page you cannot take purely on our word.
What this site does not do#
No accounts. No login. No newsletter signup. No comments. No analytics script, tag manager, heatmap, session recorder or tracking pixel placed by us. No social media widgets, no embedded video players, no third-party fonts, no chat bubble, no consent wall over the article.
That is not a privacy feature bolted on. It is what the site is: static HTML files with one small stylesheet and one small script, which is also why pages load quickly.
What the server records#
The web server keeps standard access logs, as every web server does. A log line contains the requesting IP address, the time, the page requested, the referring page if the browser sent one, and the browser's user agent string. These are used to keep the site working and to understand roughly what is being read. They are not joined to anything else and not sold.
Local storage#
One item: your light or dark theme preference, stored under the key td-theme.
It lives in your browser, it is never transmitted with a request, and it is not readable by anyone else. Clearing your browser storage removes it and the site falls back to your operating system's preference.
The calculators#
Every calculator on this site, the Stack planner, Port conflict checker, Backup planner, Reverse proxy generator and Resilience scorecard, runs entirely in your browser.
This matters more than the usual privacy boilerplate, because these tools ask genuinely sensitive questions. What runs on your server, which ports it listens on, what your domain is, and whether your backups have ever been tested is an inventory you should not hand to a website.
You do not have to take our word for it:
- Open your browser's network tab and use a calculator. No requests are made.
- Or load the page, disconnect from the network, and keep using it. It keeps working, because the dataset is embedded in the page and the computation is local.
There is no server-side component that could receive your input, because the entire site is static files.
Advertising#
The site is funded by advertising. This is the part of the page where we can describe what happens but cannot fully guarantee it, so it is worth being plain about that.
Ad providers operate under their own privacy policies. They may set cookies or use device identifiers to select and measure the ads you see. Where the law requires a consent mechanism, the provider's mechanism handles it, and your choices there apply to the provider rather than to us.
What advertising does not do here is influence the content. No advertiser sees a page before it publishes, no advertiser has any input into a score or a verdict, and no project can buy inclusion, placement or a recommendation. our editorial standards sets out the full list of things that are not for sale.
Outbound links#
Links to projects, documentation and repositories are plain links with no tracking parameters and no affiliate revenue attached. Following one takes you to a site with its own privacy practices, which are not ours.
Children#
This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them. There is very little here to collect from anybody.
Changes to this page#
If what the site does changes, this page changes first and its review date moves. Material changes, such as introducing analytics, will be stated plainly rather than absorbed into a wall of text.

Do the calculators send my data anywhere?
No. Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser using a dataset embedded in the page. Nothing you select, type or paste is transmitted, logged or stored, and there is no server-side component to receive it. You can verify this by opening your browser's network tab while you use one, or by loading the page, disconnecting from the network, and watching the calculator continue to work.
Do you use cookies?
The site itself sets none. Your chosen light or dark theme is kept in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device and is not sent with any request. Third-party advertising is the exception and may set cookies under the ad provider's own policy.
Is there analytics?
No analytics script runs on these pages. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no heatmap, no session recorder and no pixel placed by us. Aggregate traffic information comes from server access logs, which record what any web server records.
What about advertising?
The site is funded by advertising, and ad providers operate under their own privacy policies which we do not control. They may set cookies or use device identifiers to select and measure ads. Where the law requires a consent prompt, the provider's mechanism handles it. Advertising has no influence on the content: the independence policy is on the editorial standards page.
Are there embedded third-party widgets?
No. No embedded videos, no social media widgets, no comment platform, no font served from someone else's domain, no chat bubble. Pages use the fonts already on your device, which is also why they load fast.

Email editor@techdigest.site. If you are exercising a data-protection right, say which one and which jurisdiction, and bear in mind that with no accounts and no analytics there is generally very little for us to hold about you beyond time-limited server logs.
